Three things to know before the venue prices below. Some spas print ++ after a price, which means tax and service charge are added on top. Several well-known spas, including Oasis and Let's Relax, do not list a plain 60-minute Thai massage: the shortest Thai session on their menus is two hours. And we could not find a published price list for the three most-reviewed massage shops in Nimman, so ask before you start.

What each tier actually charges
Budget: 300–350 THB
Green Bamboo Massage, in a wooden house on Moon Muang Soi 1 in the Old City, charges 300 THB for an hour of Thai or foot massage, 350 for oil, 400 for aromatherapy and 400 for an hour of Tok Sen or herbal compress. Kunlarat Massage on Chang Khlan Road, south of the Night Bazaar, matches it at 300 THB for Thai or foot massage, with oil at 350 and aromatherapy at 450. Lian Linn Massage in Santitham is 300 THB for Thai or foot massage and 400 for oil. In Nimman, DN Wellness is 350 THB and Malinda is 350 for its "Thai yoga stretching" massage. Come Ma in the Old City is 350 THB for Thai massage and 800 for an hour of Tok Sen.
Mid-range: 400–600 THB
ChabaPrai and Lila Thai Massage charge 400 THB for an hour of Thai massage; Lila's foot massage is 350, body oil 650, 90 minutes of Tok Sen 1,200, and its two-hour "Lila Complete" 890. Cozy in Nimman is 400. Calm Massage and Spa, Retreat Nimman and Chinola are 450. The Home Massage and Spa south of Chiang Mai Gate is 500, Antique Massage on Wualai Road 550, and Rachamaya Retreat and Srimantra 600. Four-hands Thai massage, with two therapists, costs 1,290 THB at Antique and 1,300 at Rachamaya.
Day spas: 800–990 THB
Fah Lanna in the Old City charges 800 THB for Thai massage, 900 for foot, 1,500 for aromatherapy and 1,600 for an hour of Tok Sen or herbal compress; its prices include 7% tax and there is no service charge. Makkha Health & Spa is 850 THB, printed as a net price with no service charge. Zira Spa near Tha Phae Gate is 990 THB for Thai massage, 1,200 for its foot spa and 1,300 for aromatherapy. Let's Relax on Nimman Soi 3 sells Thai massage only as a two-hour session, at 1,200 THB; the 1,400 THB hour on its menu is four-hands. Oasis Spa in the Old City lists two hours of Thai massage at 1,700 THB++ and an hour of foot reflexology at 1,200 THB++.
Resort spas: 1,600 THB and up
RatiLanna Spa, in a riverside resort on Chang Khlan Road, charges 1,600 THB for an hour of Thai or foot massage and 2,200 for its crystal oil massage, with the 10% service charge and 7% tax already included. RarinJinda Wellness Spa on the east bank lists two hours of Thai massage at 2,000 THB++ and an hour in its hydropool and onsen at 1,500 THB++. For comparison, the AYURAH spa at Aleenta Retreat lists an hour of Thai massage at 2,700 THB, with 10% service and 7% tax added on top. Divana Lana Spa does not publish a Chiang Mai price list; ask when you book.
Tax, service charge and card fees
- Included in the posted price: RatiLanna (service charge and 7% tax), Fah Lanna (7% tax, no service charge), Makkha (net price, no service charge), Let's Relax (service charge included).
- Added on top: Oasis and RarinJinda print "++" after their prices. Neither states the percentages on its menu, so ask for the total.
- Card payment: two Google reviewers mention a card surcharge, at The Home (Chiang Mai Gate branch), where the reviewer was told in advance, and at Rachamaya. Ask before you pay by card.
What the price includes
- Clothes for Thai massage: loose clothes are supplied for dry treatments at Fah Lanna, ChabaPrai and Kunlarat.
- For oil treatments: Oasis provides a robe and disposable underwear; Fah Lanna's oil treatment rooms have showers.
- Extras stated on menus: mango sticky rice at Makkha, tea and rice crackers with Malinda's packages, a welcome drink with Come Ma's packages.
Arrive on time
Fah Lanna and Oasis both ask you to arrive 15 minutes early and say a late arrival comes out of your treatment time.
Tipping in Chiang Mai
Tipping is optional. Fah Lanna, Let's Relax, Oasis and RatiLanna all say gratuities are at your discretion. C&R Thai Massage, a shop on the Sunday Walking Street, publishes this guide:

Massage at the walking streets
On Sunday evenings Ratchadamnoen Road through the Old City becomes the Sunday Walking Street market (about 5pm to midnight), and on Saturdays Wualai Road south of Chiang Mai Gate hosts the Saturday market (5pm to about 10pm). Travellers report pop-up massage chairs at both. C&R Thai Massage puts street and local shop prices at 150–200 THB an hour. We have no current price list for the market stalls, so agree the price and length first.
