How the town is laid out

Counts are spas rated 4.5 or higher with at least 100 Google reviews as of September 2026. Two thirds of them sit in a 1.5 km band from the old town out to Mac Dinh Chi.

Ancient Town (Minh An): the heritage core

The 30-hectare UNESCO zone, pedestrianised and lantern-lit. You do not need an Old Town ticket to walk to a spa here; the ticket is checked at the doors of the heritage houses, not on the street. This is the most convenient and the most expensive cluster: a 60-minute Vietnamese massage is around 550,000 VND at the premium rooms against 290,000 for the same thing in Cam Chau. The premium independents earn it, with garden villas, published menus and late hours.

An Hoi islet: the night-market side

Across the bridge, where the night market runs on Nguyen Hoang and the lantern boats leave from the Nguyen Phuc Chu riverfront. Fifteen well-reviewed venues are packed into a few hundred metres, skewing cheap, walk-in and late, with the highest concentration of combined massage-and-nail shops in town. It is also where the street-front touting is, and where the worst-rated spa in our whole Hoi An dataset sits. Walk to a named venue rather than following whoever stops you; SuNam and Art Spa are on the same street as the touts.

Cam Pho ring: the big independents

West and north of the old town along Mac Dinh Chi, Dao Duy Tu, Ly Thuong Kiet, Hai Ba Trung and Phan Dinh Phung. This is where Hoi An's largest independent spas are, by a wide margin: White Orchids has more Google reviews than any other independent in town, The Castle Spa publishes the most complete 60/90/120 price grid, and Aaron Spa runs massage workshops as well as treatments. Prices are mid-range and nearly everyone here runs a free shuttle, several to Da Nang. La Spa at La Siesta is the resort-grade option with a public price list.

Cam Chau: quiet, and the cheapest hour in town

East of the old town along Ly Thai To, Tran Nhat Duat and Nguyen Duy Hieu, serving the villa and homestay belt between the town and the beach. Thirteen well-reviewed venues, quieter and cheaper than anywhere else. Traditional Spa & Massage on Tran Nhat Duat publishes the lowest 60-minute body massage price of any venue on our list; Citrus Health Spa is the therapy-led option, with cupping, shiatsu and prenatal work. Both collect you for free.

An Bang beach: the second scene

Along Nguyen Phan Vinh, the north end of Hai Ba Trung and Lac Long Quan, a real cluster of seventeen well-reviewed spas rather than an outpost. They sell what the old town does not: scrubs and wraps after the sea, showers, luggage storage for the last afternoon before a flight, and a free car back into town. DAHAN, Korean-run with three branches across Hoi An and Da Nang, is the biggest; Silver Moon, Sandy Hill and An Bang Spa all hold five-star ratings.

Cua Dai and Cam Thanh

The Cua Dai resort strip along Au Co has only a handful of independent spas because the hotels absorb the demand; Ginger Flower is the best-rated walk-in and collects you for free. Whether the beach resorts sell treatments to non-guests is not stated on their sites, so phone first. Cam Thanh, the coconut village, has effectively no spa scene: treat it as a basket-boat excursion and finish with a massage back in Cam Chau.

• Staying in a Cam Chau villa: Traditional Spa and Citrus Health are on your doorstep.
• Beach day: An Bang spas, then the free car back into town.
• Staying in Da Nang: several Hoi An spas will collect you there and drive you back on a 90-minute booking.
